Button Factory at “Algún Lado”

A few weeks ago I was for two days taking pictures and recording videos in an artistic intervention of an abandoned buttons factory here in Buenos Aires, a great time, very good artist, very good place, with the best organization of the girls of “Algún Lado“.

Here some of the material of those days.

This is an animation I made to place at the beginning of each one of my videos, a presentation of my logo, trying to imitate those used by movie studios.

Fistful Apparel

My friends of Calavera Comics have their new apparel brand, Fistful was founded by illustrator Alexis Ziritt, designer Mark Malazarte, and graphic designer/Renaissance Man “AZN Mike” Houlihan. Inspired by cult and genre cinema, Japanese and European comics, Mexican culture, movie poster design, plus the whimsy and aesthetics of the Silver Age of Comic Books, Fistful specializes in creating hand-rendered art, bringing the Calavera Universe from print to apparel form.

Feven

This is an artwork I did for a very special friend, began as something little and ended up being something much bigger, I think is one more step in the developing my own style, were more than three months to work on the aesthetic I wanted to obtain and we are satisfied with the results.

This is the beginning of many works to come, I hope you enjoy it.

Sushi Doll

My oldest friend Carlos E. has moved to Barcelona, Spain a couple of years ago with his lovely wife Helena, and then to be working hard on geographical information systems, is now trying their luck at his greatest talent, japanese cuisine.

In Zircons we offer our full support, Gustavo Rugeles from Beijing, China, has done some magnificent designs for the image of Sushi Doll.

For all Barcelona I recommend to contact and enjoy excellent sushi straight from the Venezuelan tropics, the mountains of Merida and the plains of Guanare.

Medusas, unfinished work

Almost 2 years ago I was commissioned to do an artwork for a magazine (who which I do not remember), but the project had many problems and never concluded. Although no longer to my liking and is only the beginning, I found that something of that effort should see the light. And I’m retaking the idea of the Medusas (jellyfish) for an upcoming personal project.

The art project it has its origins in Poland, where a young artist has chosen lucha libre as the topic of her work. The idea was to juxtapose the world of Mexican wrestlers with the grey and sad reality of Polish streets. As it happens, the project got out of control. Luchadores figures, which were originally made as part of the diplomma work, started to show up in different, faraway countries. Mind your step because you may meet one of these small warriors someday.
