Pablo Rafael Rodriguez Lugo, a cousin in Guanare, my hometown, asked me todo the cover for his new book of poems that is being published by El Perro y La Rana. A month ago he sent the poems and I was surprised by the harshness of the search for love, lost in fantasies and romance with great hope to be succeed at the end, just at dawn and at the same time be the starting point of a new life.

For the cover I wanted to show both the sunrise and the light at the end of the tunnel in a very literal way, using recurring elements in my work, light, spheres and the tentacles/glimpses of the sun.

When my friend Feven saw the artwork the first thought she have was: “future, water, survival, gentile yet piercing”, I found it very accurate.
