Pablo E. Peña P. is a visual and sound artist from Venezuela, whose practice focuses on the development of real-time generative systems. His work constructs autonomous audiovisual environments where programming, physical simulation, and 3D rendering are integrated with interactivity to produce structures in constant transformation.

Starting from the visual as the core of his practice, Peña creates generative architectures in which particles, geometries, and behaviors evolve according to rules and initial conditions. Within these systems, sound functions as an extension that shapes temporality, introducing rhythm, duration, and memory into the experience. His work is characterized by a precise integration of image and sound, as well as an ongoing exploration of the relationship between control and autonomy in complex systems.

His background combines studies in visual arts and mathematics, a connection that continues to inform his approach to generative art. Through early experiences in animation, graphic design, video, and programming, he developed a lasting interest in systems, simulation, and emergent processes. Over more than two decades, he has worked across multiple areas of digital creativity—including art direction, motion graphics, post-production, audiovisual design, and new media—building an interdisciplinary practice that converges in the creation of generative artworks and immersive experiences.

His creative process is based on the construction of interconnected systems in which visual and sonic elements respond to shared structures of behavior and control. Using real-time rendering engines, physical simulations, and sound synthesis, he develops works that remain in a continuous state of evolution rather than existing as fixed compositions. This approach allows him to treat the artwork as a dynamic organism, generating immersive experiences where transformation, temporality, and the emergence of patterns become central elements.

In recent years, his research has focused on noise, randomness, and complex behaviors as tools for audiovisual creation. His projects investigate how relatively simple systems can produce unexpected outcomes, establishing a dialogue between algorithmic control, uncertainty, and perception. This line of inquiry extends into performative and interactive formats, where artworks continuously transform in response to external variables, real-time data, or audience participation.

Recent projects include Spheres of Privilege (2021), presented as part of Swissnex San Francisco’s Beyond 2020 festival; Chrysina Unpredictable (2022), developed in collaboration with the artist Remedios as an exploration of generative art, memory, and nature; Tejidos (MUTEK MX, 2023), an immersive live audiovisual ensemble; OWN COMPOSITION (2024), an album based on vocal improvisation and generative music; and EXP_BOG.ECL (2025), premiered at the Bogotá Experimental Film Festival as a hybrid work merging audiovisual performance and real-time generative systems. In 2026, he participated in FUTUROS INMERSIVOS DESDE AMÉRICA LATINA in Hong Kong, a curated program focused on contemporary fulldome and audiovisual practices emerging from Latin America.
