Ya está bastante entrado el otoño, la mañana amaneció un poco fría y con lluvia, tal vez un augurio de lo que venía (estoy siendo un poco dramático), pero como todos los días salí con mi cámara muy emocionado a seguir conociendo la ciudad.
Este día había planeado pasarlo en La Plaza del Pueblo 人民广场, el gran espacio público en el centro de Shanghai, donde están las oficinas gubernamentales, el Gran Teatro de Shanghai 上海大剧院, El Centro de Planificación Urbana, y lo que me llamaba más la atención, el Museo de Shanghai.
Estar en La Plaza del Pueblo te da una muy buena vista de los rascacielos de esta parte de la ciudad, algunos muy extraños, otros impresionantes, perfecto para tomar fotos, la lluvia había parado un poco y tenía que aprovechar, ya había tomado algunas cuando mi Canon 7D repentinamente se apagó, creí que era la batería y la cambie, siempre llevo una de repuesto, aunque se que es poco probable que gaste una batería en una sola jornada siempre voy preparado, pero la cámara se negó a prender, sentí que me empezaba un ataque de pánico, apenas comienzo mi viaje en una nueva ciudad y no tengo una cámara seria de respaldo.
Traté de calmarme y no prestarle más atención a la situación y entré al Museo de Shanghai 上海博物馆, ya lidiaría con la cámara cuando regresara al hotel, por ahora solo iba a deleitarme con las exhibiciones de unos de los museos más importantes de China.
El Museo de Shanghai es un increíble paseo por la historia y cultura china, empecé por la exhibición de bronce antiguo, no podía más que maravillarme con la belleza de piezas de hasta 4.500 años de antigüedad, solo de conocer estos datos es una experiencia sobrecogedora, nunca había estado frente a algo así.
Las otras exhibiciones son igualmente impresionantes, esculturas, cerámicas, conocer en persona los famosos Jarrones Ming, las piezas de jade, las pinturas, la caligrafía, los sellos y su importancia en la organización de la sociedad, las minorías, monedas, los primeros billetes, fueron casi cinco horas de recorrido, cuatro pisos de cultura que hicieron olvidarme de la cámara que no encendía.
Al finalizar el día lo tengo que contar como un día bueno, cada vez me gusta más China, trato de asimilar este país, esta cultura que existía ya hace más de 4.000 años, viniendo Yo de un continente que apenas está definiendo su joven cultura de pocos siglos.
La cámara no volvió a funcionar, y de ahora en adelante solo tengo mi Huawei P7 y mi Pentax K1000, cámaras a las que no hubiera imaginado poner el peso de registrar tan importante viaje, pero es lo que puedo resolver por ahora.
Acá van las ultimas fotos tomadas con mi fiel Canon 7D, que me ha acompañado ya por 8 países y por 3 continentes en los últimos años.

It is already well into the autumn, the morning was a bit cold and rainy, perhaps an omen what was coming (I’m being a little dramatic), but like every day I went out with my camera very excited to continue exploring the city.
This day I had planned to spend it in the People’s Square 人民 广场, the public space in downtown Shanghai, where are the Municipal Government Headquarters, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, the Shanghai Grand Theatre 上海大剧院, and what it catch more my attention, the Shanghai Museum.
Being in People’s Square gives you a very good view of the skyscrapers of this part of the city, some very strange, some stunning, perfect for taking photos, the rain had stopped a bit and I had to take the opportunity, had already taken some when my Canon 7D suddenly went out, I thought it was the battery and change it, I always carry a spare, although that is unlikely to spend a battery in a single day I’ll always prepared, but the camera refused to turn on, I felt that I was starting a panic attack, I just start my trip in a new city and have no serious backup camera.
I tried to calm myself and not paying more attention to the situation and entered the Shanghai Museum 上海 博物馆, I would deal with the camera when I returned to the hotel, for now I was just going to delight the exhibitions of one of the most important museums in China.
The Shanghai Museum is an amazing journey through history and Chinese culture, I started by the exhibition of ancient bronze, could not help but marvel at the beauty of pieces up to 4,500 years old, just to know these is an overwhelming experience, I had never been in front of something like that.
The other exhibits are equally impressive, sculptures, ceramics, meet in person the famous Ming vases, pieces of jade, paintings, calligraphy, seals and its importance in the organization of the society, minorities, coins, the first bills, were almost five hour tour, four floors of culture that made me forget the camera that would not turn on.
At the end of the day I have to count it as a good day, every time I like it more China, I try to assimilate this country, this culture that already existed more than 4,000 years ago, me, coming of a continent that is just defining its youth culture of just a few hundred years.
The camera did not return to work, and from now on I only have my Huawei P7 and my Pentax K1000, cameras that I would never have thought of putting the weight of registering this important journey, but that’s what I can solve for now.
