Shanghai es una metrópolis impresionante, es la ciudad más moderna y avanzada en la que he estado hasta ahora, todo está hecho en una escala para deslumbrar, la ventana al mundo de la China del siglo XXI.
Si bien estoy fascinado con la grandeza de Shanghai, mi parte favorita ha sido caminar por las zonas más tradicionales, las pequeñas calles, ver a su gente, involucrarme más e imaginar cómo sería vivir acá.

Shanghai is an impressive metropolis, is the most modern and advanced city in which I have been so far, everything is done on a scale in order to dazzle, the window to the world of the twenty-first century China.
While I am fascinated by the grandeur of Shanghai, my favorite part was walking through the most traditional areas, small streets, watch its people get more involved and imagine living here.
El día que llegué a Shanghai fui a visitar el Bund 外滩, y desde ahí pude ver al otro lado del Río Huangpu 黄浦江 el Pudong 浦东新区, fue como ver un espejismo, los edificios del Bund son de muy bella clásica arquitectura europea, remanencias del pasado colonial de Shanghai, pero del otro lado se ven estos mega rascacielos, La Perla del Oriente, La Torre de Shanghai, el segundo edificio más alto del mundo con 632 metros de altura, el Shanghai World Financial Center, entre muchos otros, fue como ver a la distancia alguna ciudad salida de una película espacial.
Pero no fue hasta luego que crucé al otro lado y di un paseo por Lujiazui 陆家嘴, la punta de la península donde está el desarrollo más importante de todo el Pudong, el centro financiero más importante de China y uno de los más importantes del mundo, un sitio con un impecable y organizado estilo, desde las estaciones del subterráneo hasta el cruce de las calles la alta tecnología está visiblemente presente.
Lo que me parece más impresionante es que hace apenas 15 años todo esto era un pantano poco poblado, dedicado a pequeñas siembras, para mi una muestra de cómo China está creciendo y quiere demostrarlo en toda su magnitud. No podía más que sentirme fuera de lugar en un sitio como este, pero me gusto mucho la sensación de haber ido y vuelto al futuro que me imaginé de niño.

The day I arrived to Shanghai I went to visit the Bund 外滩, from there I could see across the Huangpu River 黄 浦江 the Pudong 浦东 新区, it was like seeing a mirage, the buildings of the Bund are very beautiful classic European architecture, remanences of the colonial past of Shanghai, but on the other side you can see these mega skyscrapers, the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Shanghai Tower, the second tallest building in the world with 632 meters high, the Shanghai World Financial Center, among many other, it was like seeing in the distance a city out of a space movie.
But it was later that I cross to the other side and took a walk around Lujiazui 陆家嘴, the tip of the peninsula, where are the most important development of the entire Pudong, the most important financial center of China and one of the most important worldwide, a place with impeccable and organized style, from subway stations to the intersection of the streets the high technology are visibly present.
What I find most impressive is that just 15 years ago this was a swamp sparsely populated, dedicated to small plantings, for me an example of how China is growing and wants to show it in all its magnitude. I could not help but feel out of place here, but I really liked the feeling of having gone and back to the future I imagined as a child.
Luego de pasado el shock de perder mi DSLR me siento más libre, ya no tengo que cargar ese peso en mi, además de que es una cámara muy grande, bueno, tenemos que verle el lado positivo a las complicaciones que se nos presentan y aprender de ellas, por ejemplo esto me hizo decidir que luego que la Canon 7D salga del taller solo pienso usarla en mis trabajos profesionales o por lo menos los que ameriten una super alta resolución.
Ahora puede ser que disfrute más el viaje, voy mucho más ligero con mi teléfono, un Huawei P7, que tiene una gran cámara, y junto al VSCO Cam son la combinación perfecta, acá va la primera parte de mi recorrido por las calles de Shanghai.

After past the shock of losing my DSLR I feel more free, I no longer carry that weight on me, besides it is a very big camera, and well, we have to see the positive side of the complications we face and learn from them, for example this made me decide that after the Canon 7D leave the repair shop, I just think to use it in my professional work or at least those that need super high resolution.
Now it may be that I enjoy more the trip, I’m much lighter with my phone, a Huawei P7, which has a great camera, and next to VSCO Cam are the perfect combination, here’s the first part of my walks through the streets of Shanghai.
