Generative Visuals for Ibarra, Rezc & Tamayo
“Si por un momento frenamos todo y solo suena el movimiento de la tierra, ¿qué escucharíamos? Yamil Rezc, Rodo Ibarra y Rubén A. Tamayo realizan una interpretación de cómo imaginan ese sonido. “Terra” es una pieza audiovisual que viaja por el experimentalismo combinando todo tipo de sonidos y atmósferas; genera un paisaje oscuro que nos transporta al lugar más recóndito de este planeta o, mejor aún, nos lleva completamente fuera de la atmósfera, al espacio exterior, para contemplar esa resonancia. Además de la pieza sonora compuesta por los mexicanos IBARRA REZC TAMAYO, “Terra” se materializa de manera visual a través del trabajo del artista venezolano Pablo E. Peña P., quien crea un sistema generativo de partículas que le da vida a la obra. Así, “Terra” se convierte en un fragmento de la banda sonora de este mundo.” — Julián González
Hace unos meses, mis amigos de Facade Electronic me invitaron a crear la parte visual de este jam realizado por Ibarra, Rezc y Tamayo.
Fue una muy buena oportunidad para seguir explorando simulaciones audiovisuales y sistemas audio-reactivos con partículas en TouchDesigner, y quedé bastante contento con el resultado.
La pieza audiovisual fue presentada en el festival ECOS, en el Instituto de Investigaciones Culturales-Museo de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California.
Estoy muy agradecido con Rubén y con todo el equipo de Facade Electronic por esta nueva oportunidad. Me alegra mucho poder formar parte de esta comunidad y seguir colaborando en proyectos donde el sonido y la imagen pueden desarrollarse juntos.

“If we were to pause everything for a moment and hear only the movement of the Earth, what would we hear? Yamil Rezc, Rodo Ibarra, and Rubén A. Tamayo offer an interpretation of how they imagine that sound. “Terra” is an audiovisual piece that explores experimental territory, blending a wide array of sounds and atmospheres; it creates a dark landscape that transports us to the planet’s most remote corners—or, better yet, takes us entirely out of the atmosphere and into outer space to contemplate that resonance. Beyond the audio composition by Mexican trio IBARRA REZC TAMAYO, “Terra” is also a visual creation through the work of Venezuelan artist Pablo E. Peña P., who designed a generative particle system that brings the sound to life. In this way, “Terra” becomes a fragment of the world’s own soundtrack.” — Julián González
A few months ago, my friends at Facade Electronic invited me to take part in this jam by Ibarra, Rezc, and Tamayo, creating the visual component of the piece.
It was a great opportunity to further explore audiovisual simulations and audio-reactive particle systems in TouchDesigner, and I was very happy with the result.
The audiovisual piece was presented at the ECOS Festival, at the Institute of Cultural Research-Museum of the Autonomous University of Baja California.
I’m very grateful to Rubén and the entire Facade Electronic team for this new opportunity. I’m very happy to be part of this community and to continue collaborating on projects where sound and image can develop together.
